it was a mistake…

Couple of rookie mistakes today. The first was embracing the sunshine and swapping my trainers for open toed shoes; the second was trying to teach twin boy and girl how to roller skate alone in open toed shoes….

I don’t know how much of a visual you need but take four arms and imagine them rotating wildly, add four legs with sixteen wheels attached and take away any sense of co ordination and you should be forming a good picture.

Add one parent with perfectly manicured toes and throw in the original equation of the sixteen wheels, four legs and four wildly rotating arms and then quickly take away half a toenail and any hint of red polish from the left foot and multiply with two bruising bottoms and you should get a picture of us twenty minutes into the lesson.

Finally add tears of laughter, aching little piggies for the parent, bumped bodies for the bambinos and wobbly cries of both “I can do it” and “you can do it” and you have the end result.

Success is not always about being the best but sometimes just being able to stand up straight on your own eight wheels.

I’m giggling at that image. Note to self for the future to always wear trainers when attempting to make children mobile on wheels!

I love the fact that you attempted this is non-sensible shoes. For that at the very least, you should be applauded! Made me smile. A lot 🙂

The things we do! It will be a very memorable day though. Hope there aren’t too many bumps and bruises. Next step is that you have to join them on skates to keep up with them …!

I find baby walkers often pose the same problem. The achilles tendon comes in for some hammer!

I’m amazed BB didn’t want in on the action… and if your hubby is anything like mine then it’s just as well he didn’t try and pitch in. the only time I’ve seen my hubby sulk was when I took him ice skating many years ago.

    He can’t do it…
