A Carnival of Madness: Newbies and Photos

I may have mentioned that I am a finalist in the Mad Parenting Blog Awards.  We are halfway through voting and the results will be announced in September.  In total there are fifteen categories and some rather splendid blogs have been shortlisted in all of them and I have the pleasure of showing some of them off on my blog.

Grab a large bottle of gin and a small bottle of tonic mix them together in a glass, pop your reading glasses on and settle in for some rather good reads.

So *assumes best Oscar style voiceover*…

Today I will be introducing you to the nominees for Best New Mad Blog and the Best Mad Blog Photography Finalists

And without further ado; first up we have Mummy Central with their post has the tiger mum got no teeth? A rather thought-provoking piece on how we as parents do or don’t shape our children by the efforts we put into them when they are small.  .

For a total contrast we head over to the rather beautiful blog at beeniebuds and co with an excellent post written for the Miffy in Fashion exhibition which opened in Holland in April.  Check out how trendy Miffy is looking with her fashional makeover.

Now we have all felt mocked by a naked Sindy Doll, but wait until you hear what they do to their menfolk.  Take a tissue to wipe the tears of laughter from your eyes as you read Dont Look it’s a Handsome Prince Graveyard in There from the excellent blog The Babylon Lane Tales.

If you want more laughter and side-splitting giggles head straight over to see MammyWoo and her read about her Aunty Olive’s pearls of wisdom and Lexy’s trip to the dentist, you will laugh, you will cry, you will enjoy no rest for the crazy (a tale of woe).

Finally the last outstanding new blog to appear this year in the finalist category is from SAHMandlovingit who is literally baring all for her readers, check out what her mischievous mini cheddar gets up to in Chicken Noup for the Soul.

By now you probably need your glass topping up and a quick wee-wee break so I will hang on for you.

Ready?

Did you wash your hands?

Gin poured?

Good lets crack on with the finalists for the Best Mad Photography blog.

Beautiful images of the Scottish highlands await you over at tales from the village, check out Rachael’s lovely words and photos over at a visit to the highlands.

Whilst you feel lovely and relaxed from Rachael’s blog trot over to at Carrot and Kids to marvel at Dragonfly, stunning photography and a glimpse into one bloggers reason for blogging.

Marilyn at Soft Thistle literally melted my heartstrings with this stunningly shot photo of her son, have a look at white out #2: the zack edition  and if you are anything like me then go and marvel at white out #1!

Next we head to Squidyboo  where Lindy muses if her she has hung up her travelling shoes and found her home for life in the one where i find my way home; again her words are littered with stunning photographic images.

Over at Housewife Confidential you can glory in two generations of photos as Kat shows off her fabulous photography in Capturing the moments and shares the precious images taken by her own father.  Beautiful post.

And to end the carnival what better than a browse around Clinically Fed Up , Nikki’s photos are exquisite and will leave you longing for more.

And then to quote a famous bunny, that’s all folks, the gin should be gone and your eyes should be drooping.  All you need to do now is pop along and cast your votes here and don’t forget if you like what you read over here then please vote for me in the Best Blog about Family life.

Thanks for reading.
