blinded whilst I slept

This morning started a little unfortunately. He who helped create them caused me a little upset when his alarm went off at six am severely interrupting my blissful sleep. However that upset was soon forgotten by the quick discovery that someone had blinded me whilst I slumbered.

I rolled over in my lovely bed to squint at the alarm clock to count the minutes before twin boy was due to descend on me bellowing out the question;

“Is it wakey up time yet mummy?”

As I attempted to squint I realised that I was incapable of such a function. My sight was gone. Arms outstretched I gingerly prodded the space I imagined my eye sockets to be and found instead a mass of sticky gunk.

My immediate thought was that someone had broken in during the night, subdued the rapid hound by performing some dog whisperer trick and had tiptoed upstairs and poured a tub of PVC glue on my face. My second thought was that the twins may have done it ‘just for fun’.

Calling for help in my new darkened state, he who helped create them came back in quite non plussed considering the gravity of the situation and merely commented that maybe I had caught beautiful babies conjunctivitis.

Hmmm hadn’t considered that….

Ten minutes later after scratching and scraping a ton of greenery out of my eyes my vision returned and of course the first thing I saw was twin boy standing beside the bed bellowing;

“Is it wakey up time yet mummy?”

I don’t think he understood when I said I was calling in sick!

    Ohhh weird. I’m sitting here with a goopy eye too. Have found some drops from last time so hopefully will be feeling brighter eyed tomorrow. No doubt I’ll have given it to the kids in the mean time.
