deja vu: back on the childrens ward

In four hours time forty sets of parents are bringing their five year old off springs to my care. Twin boy and twin girl are celebrating in style and are having a funky cool (their words) disco for their fifth birthday.

Before the party starts I quickly have to build an extension to accommodate the excess of toys we already unwrapped yesterday and I need to butter a few thousand sandwiches and I need to regain my sanity and emotions as for the second time this week I find myself blogging from the children’s ward.

Beautiful baby is determined to give me a heart attack before she turns one as she had two more seizures this morning.

My beautiful lovely girl is being poked and bled and I can’t help her. I am utterly useless by her side and spooked to bits about what these seizures mean.
Fear of unknown is horrid, my brain is stir fried mixed with what if she is.. and cheese sandwiches plus jam should be fine. I hope I can un scramble myself enough to not lose anyone’s child whilst he who helped create them keeps my ward chair warm.

Wish me luck and keep all crossed for Libby-Sue.

Oh no! I’ve just cried for you. It was the worst moment of my life seeing my child admitted to hospital, so I understand your anxiety. She’s in the best place.
You must feel torn; wanting to be with her but knowing that the other two need you aswell. He who helped create them will keep her safe until your return, don’t worry!

Hi I’ve just started reading your blog. So sorry to hear of the trauma you’re all going through; you must feel so helpless.

If it helps AT ALL know that many children have seizures and grow out of it – I’m a case in point as I was in the same position as your little girl when I was a tot and I’m perfectly fine and healthy now.

I hope you get some answers soon, and that your lovely daughter is back home where she belongs with the family that love her so much.

I am so sorry to read this again. I hope that they manage to get to the bottom of things this time for both you and BB. I understand the need to be out of a hospital, but sometimes you just have to insist on staying until something is found. We did that with Mini and were so thankful in the end
