the day you left

Most people won’t have noticed, many probably won’t care. But I care, you cut me like a knife and the wound is still open.

You left me…

What did I do? Did I not show you enough attention, god knows we spend all our time together.

Where did you go? I checked at all your friends sites, I looked for you on facebook.

Did you cheat on me? Did someone else’s hands imprint upon you?

Are you back to stay???

“At 2.34pm on April Fools Day 2012 my blog left me. No note or explanation, it selfishly grabbed all of my words and memories, shoved them into a bag and sauntered off the world wide web.”

“At 2.36pm on April Fools Day 2012 I suddenly realised why other people “back up” their blog.”

“At 2.37pm on April Fools Day 2012 I felt a right prat for never backing up my blog.”

I am not ashamed to say I begged for you to come home; emails were sent into the ether telling you I would change. I promised to write less about poo and more about us. I promised to treat you right and buy you a new home on the internet with shiny new widgets.

You returned at 12.26 on Monday the 2nd of April. You look different, you now know how much I care and you love it. I tried to pass you off as a hobby, as something I do to occupy my abundant spare time. But now you know the truth, your leaving confirmed it. You are part of me, as Jerry once said, you complete me!

And now I have backed you up you are mine forever.

(Is it the first sign of crazy when you write a love letter to your blog?)

I knew it had left – I feared an affair, I felt you ought to know and was so sad to be bearer of bad news! I am so grateful it was just your naughty blog playing an April fool on you. I am sorry I did not trust your little blog, but I did miss reading it so, even for one day!

I am glad you have been reunited and now have learned not to take each other for granted – I fear this was a warning to me too (I had never back up my blog but have now) and now as I write this I fear I am losing the plot – I am giving you blog therapy!

    xx

Most certainly. But there’s nothing wrong with a little bit of crazy. Everyone needs a little bit of crazy in their life.

On a slightly separate note, I am now v. scared. Must research backing up blog.

I am so glad that it’s back….I did miss it so & I felt your pain. I’m sure that Gordons (or any other Gin maker) was behind it though……I think their sales were down due to people spending more on fuel. You can’t blame them really can you.

I thought you just left because I was going away for a few days πŸ˜‰ On the technical side (ish) as your not self hosted and you have adverts then that could be why as I am sure I am right in saying your not allowed to use it for advertising unless you are self hosted, though I could be completely wrong (not the first time!!!) maybe ask Sally Whittle as sure that is who I learnt (!) it from!

On the other hand the could just be jealous of your great writing πŸ™‚ xxx
