Cornwall is such a great destination for a holiday in the UK, and I have recently returned with my family and wanted to share with you what we got up to. With two teenagers and an almost teenager, you may think that we would struggle to find things we could all do together as a family difficult. But you would be wrong! So here are the top 10 things to do in Cornwall with Teenagers.
Bodmin Jail is a former prison situated in the lovely area of Bodmin. It is full of history as it was built back in 1773, and was closed as a prison in 1927. Here you can enjoy an immersive experience where you can unlock Cornwall’s dark history by taking on the “Dark Walk”. Not for the faint-hearted but a unique experience we all loved.
Kayaking on River Fowey
If your children are anything like mine then a more energetic activity can often be the best course of action and kayaking on the River Fowey was a highlight for us all. It is a lovely way to see the countryside from a different perspective. While you are there you could also try your hand at paddle boarding.
We used Fowey river hire and you can find out more about them here.
Stand Up Paddle Boarding on Crantock Gannel
On the subject of paddle boarding, we decided to give it a go on Crantock Gannel. This scenic coast is so pretty, and even if you don’t go there to paddle board I highlight recommend you spend some time there just for the sheer beauty of the place.
Crantock Gannel is a National Trust location and you can find out more about it here.
Adrenalin Quarry Aqua Park
There is something for everyone here but the inflatable assault course is a highlight and a must for any thrill-seekers or competitive family members. An excellent day out.
Zip wire Adrenalin Quarry
Also at Adrenalin Quarry, you can take on the 490m zip line and is known as the UK’s maddest zip wire. Where you will fly over the lakes and trees. A real thrill for everyone.
Go karting at adrenalin quarry
Here you can ride karts on the 800m all-weather track and show who in the family is truly number one. This is another great activity for any competitive family members.
Book your karting experience here.
The FlowRider at Retallack
Cornwall’s only FlowRider surf machine is an excellent activity and place to visit if you want to experience surfing but don’t feel confident doing it out at sea. It gives you a true experience of it where you can surf the perfect wave every time
Book your chance to surf here.
If you want to experience the Cornish lifestyle then on the second weekend in August you will find the Boardmasters festival in Newquay. A combination of surfing and skateboarding and lots of live music it is a five day event that is well worth considering. We didn’t catch it this time, but it is on the cards for the future.

Surfing/Bodyboarding at Porthtowan
You can’t go to Cornwall without surfing or bodyboarding and we found that one of the best places to do it is at Porthtowan. We had so much fun here.
Check out the beach here.
The best burgers at The Unicorn pub in Porthtowan
Finally, after all that surfing and fun in the sea with the family, there really is only one thing for it. Burgers! The Unicorn Pub in Porthtowan serves up some of the best we have ever tasted.

I hope this helps you if you are off to Cornwall with your teenagers.
