We all know that having a birthday and being in lockdown has potential to be slightly miserable, especially if you’re nine years old and you’re looking to turn double digits, and you’ve been planning your birthday, pretty much since the last one happened.
That’s the case in our house.
Libby-Sue is about to turn 10 in two weeks time. And she had so many plans for her birthday.
So when we sat down and said that actually with social distancing, parties as we knew it wouldn’t really be on the agenda for 2020.
We knew we had to look for an alternative.
And we found one.
We are working with non stop kids who have delightfully offered to arrange a party for Libby-Sue, where she can invite all of her friends from up and down the country.
Reasons as a parent, why I think is fantastic.
Number one, no party bags. I don’t have to go and spend a fortune on tat.
Number two, I don’t have to make any food. Obviously I have to feed my own children, but I don’t have to feed 30.
Number three, I don’t have to hire a hall, and I don’t have to destroy my own house. Although actually with all of us being here during lockdown it is pretty much destroyed anyway.
Number four. The most important is Libby is still going to have an amazing time she’s still going to be able to see her friends. She’s still going to have a party and celebrate
and I don’t have to organise it.
How does it work?
Basically the team at non stop kids entertainment, get together and they arrange it all.
Libby-sue has chosen to have half an hour of a magician and half an hour of party games and I understand the chap we’ve got hosting is outstanding. They guaranteed to completely entertain the children from start to finish. It’s what they do day to day and they’ve just moved their business online, which is fantastic for people like me that want to give their kids a really great experience on their birthday. and and don’t want to tidy up afterwards.
The party for Libby is in three weeks so we are starting to send out the invitations, everybody has a zoom invite and instructions on how to log in.
The parties are suitable for all ages, and you can have them for any length of time.
Libby’s particularly looking forward to the to the magic show and we’re really, really excited to see how the party games will work. The reviews that I’ve seen look fantastic. I’m just so excited to see all of my daughter’s friends and family, having fun and joining in.
We’ve got people coming, who live hundred miles away. And then we’ve got my mum and dad, who lived down the road but obviously we can’t go and visit on a regular basis.
We will check back in after the party and let you know how it went. But I was super excited to tell you about this, and obviously let people know that actually there is still a way to make your children’s birthday special.
Even when in lockdown!
More about the company…
Cannock-based Non-Stop Kids normally delivers around 8,000 children’s parties a year across the UK through a network of over 100 entertainers, also working for corporate clients including Drayton Manor and Cirque du Soleil.
In reaction to COVID-19, the company first developed a Virtual Party package, catering for up to 100 children at a time, after being approached by corporate client to provide a solution in support of its staff working from home.
Virtual parties use Zoom technology so that the entertainer can interact with all the children taking part and involve a mixture of magic, songs and games tailored to the age group of each individual party.
All your friend’s parents need to do is click on the link that you have sent them at the time and date you have chosen, and that’s it. Their children can log in via any device – a laptop, a computer, a smart phone, a tablet – basically anything!
The children will be able to see each other and will be able to see the entertainer. Unlike a static video it is a truly interactive experience. The kids can interact with each other as well as with the entertainer.
