Blackpool holds a special place in my heart. As a child I spent many a summer with family, playing on the pier, screaming on the Big Dipper and eating Ice Cream on the beach with my family.
As I have aged and grown a family of my own, we still return year after year, to visit friends, TO lose a cascade of two pences in the slots, and to visit the rides and sights.
This year was no different. And myself and my three musketeers spent a glorious 48 hours in Blackpool, courtesy of SEA LIFE centre, who invited us to have an amazing adventure with them.
It didn’t disappoint.
Myself, my cousin, niece, and my two little (and big girls) headed into for an underwater delight. The smaller kids were mesmerized by the fishes they recognize from Disney hits, like Finding Nemo. The slightly larger child, sat for hours staring at sharks and sting rays.
Blackpool has 2000 amazing creatures – so you are bound to find one you like.
Upon entry, prepare to lose your children to the rockpool, where they can see, and touch some creatures. Then watch as they delight in following the team trail.
Following SEA LIFE’s summer theme of Pirates and Mermaids, upon entry, your child chooses a team, and as they walk around the exhibition they are tasked with looking for six hidden treasures in the tanks.
Find them all – and they get to collect a reward and guests will get to meet the legendary pirates and mermaids themselves. Little Landlubbers can learn secret underwater language with one of the enchanting mer-creatures or practice their meanest ‘ARRRRRR’ with a pirate captain. But be warned – the scurvy sailor might make them walk the plank!
At the end of the trail it’s all hands-on deck as guests will visit the activity zone featuring a swashbuckling array of activities to keep even the saltiest Seadogs occupied! Adventurers will even receive a gift to take away, keeping them as happy as a clam for the car journey home!
Lucky explorers may even get the chance to witness the spellbinding in-tank mermaid show which will showcase the enchanting magic of these fascinating creatures. Watch as their long hair billows in the waves and the shiny scales shimmer and twinkle in the sunlight. Your kids will LOVE it!
All included in the ticket price!
The kids adored it, from the Rockpool at the start, to the breathtaking Shark tank, right through to the Mermaid slushy at the end!
Well worth a trip to!
