The Al Fresco Diaries: I think I am going to like it here…..

We arrived at our Al Fresco home at Yelloh! Village Beach Club, Vias Plage in no time at all after leaving the plane.  The airport was tiny, and the speed of which the suitcases left the plane and arrived on our trolley was unprecedented.

We left the plane at 4.30 and were drinking an ice cold beer on our caravan patio at 5.30.

First impressions were good, a sign for mini golf caught my son’s eye immediately as we drove into the resort.  My daughters and I saw a sign for the creperie and instantly our taste buds started tingling.  I’m not sure I can make a crepe paleo but I am thinking that French food doesn’t count.

The reception we received was been excellent.  Two Al Fresco reps, Mandy and Andy, met us at the door of our mobile home and talked us through every aspect of the resort.  The childrens’ eyes lit up as promises of disco’s, play areas, and heated pools were described.  Then we heard pure whoops of delight as they were allowed to go to reception and collect armfuls of buckets and spades to play in our own private sandpit; right outside our home.

Even the sun was shining through the aftermath of a storm, and the forecast is promising happier times.

Unpacking was a frantic affair, with three kids itching to explore, we hastily threw clothes into cupboards and changed into non aeroplane clothes.

Exploring led to discoveries of tennis courts, two enormous heated pools, several enticing parks, ping pong tables and (to our parental relief) a kids club.

Yelloh!
It all looked perfect, and then we found the beach.

the beachLess than twenty meters from our front step was the Mediterranean sea, singing its delights as we crashed onto the sand.  Shoes were wrenched off, toes were dipped into the shuddering cold waters.  Smiles were exchanged and happy voices were all I could hear.

I closed my eyes, refreshed by the sensation of being on holiday, nourished by the sounds of contented kids.

I think I’m going to like it here.

I am so impressed that you were so close to the beach and the sea. Also can’t believe how quickly you were settled in after getting off the plane – when you have a young family the transfer time is so important! Can’t wait to find out more 🙂

Yay for the Kids Club, that would have been top of my list too (in a guilty sort of way). But even without the club there is loads to keep you busy, have a fantastic stay and look forward to hearing more!
