it’s time to say goodbye old friend

Its time to say goodbye my friend.

I had hoped we could spend more time together, travelling, visiting new places, maybe even going overseas.

But then you got sick…

At first I thought I could help fix you, and I tried, I spent money on anything that promised to get you up and about and for a short time it seemed to work.

But then icy blue skies have started to greet us, Jack Frost has extended his long blue fingers and has curled them around your heart causing it to pause between beats, a sure sign that you are hovering between this world and the next.

I invested in you and now I am angry, how could you do this, why are you leaving me?

The infection that started as a rattling cough has now assumed the form of a hoarse roar which seems to make you shake as you move.

Its time to say goodbye old friend,

Tomorrow you are off to the junk yard, and I get to pick up my new expensive gleaming new motor in your place.

Can’t flipping wait!

Oh gosh, I am almost in tears, I manage to anthropomorphise every car we have (only in my head, no silly fluffy dice or crazy number plates), new cars are v. exciting, but a scrap heap sounds such a sad end – can’t you let a taxidermist at it and put it on the mantle piece?

OMG! I thought it was an aged old cat you were talking about, then you got to the coughing and spluttering bit and I started to question things. So glad it’s just a car! 🙂

Shall you be keeping the new car clean do you think?

I am so bloody jealous. I have no idea what car I drive, just that it’s rubbish and it’s green. Can Frog and I come for a spin?!

Love it. I think we all have a love-hate relationship with out motors don’t we? I certainly do with mine. I’m staying positive this year – Toby the Touran has got through January and hasn’t broken down once, yay!
