The tooth fairy is making me bankrupt….

The tooth fairy is making me bankrupt….

I am slowly going bankrupt, I have twin school age children and their sodding teeth are falling out on a weekly basis. Twin girl was the first to lose a body part and I manage to overcome my disgust and play the role of the tooth fairy with flair and dramatic flourish.  The Pinot I had consumed that evening certainly helped my theatrical performance as I silently crept into Twin Girls room … [Read more...]

I am an exceptional parent

I am an exceptional parent

Given the right children I firmly believe I could be an exceptional parent. I have read a multitude of books on how to be a fabulous mother and have the theory pretty much bang on. I know to blame the behaviour not the child and in theory I can understand how this works but when my eldest offspring is found experimenting with what floats in the toilet bowl I can't help but think I have given … [Read more...]

rioting in the park…

rioting in the park…

I took BB to meet Peppa Pig. I have to be honest I am not a fan of the over indulged, over fed, rather obese pink sausage but smallest adores her and I adore smallest so that's that then. We went to an 'adventure park' with all the family purely because Peppa was rocking up for a meet and greet, rumour had it that her fat little pig of a brother George was also making the trip. The park … [Read more...]

We will die, DIE I tell you…

Then we decided to learn to ride our bikes on the road... … [Read more...]

I want to change my children

I grew you, do you know that? I grew you from being smaller than a spec of sand. Your fingers and thumbs were defined within me; your hearts starting beating next to my own. You all first sucked your thumbs safe inside my chocolate filled belly; you were created with a passion and sustained by love. … [Read more...]

Operation Day: every cloud…

The silver lining in the cloud. BB's operation was in medical terms, a success. I am not sure BB would describe it as such but medically she should have a happy hip in years to come. The day started at four am and finished at nine pm; my daughter handled herself with a gentle grace that made me swell with pride. She beamed at the anaesthetic and floated off to sleep with a smile tingling on … [Read more...]

DDH: before the spica cast…

Dear BB, The last few weeks have flown by and suddenly your operation is less than a breath away. The doctors have told me you should be in theatre for four to five hours but have warned it will feel like eternity, I remember last time, I know it will taste like forever. … [Read more...]
