This is your reminder!
Next week, school are going to give you very little notice and expect you to send in your child in an elaborate costume. Dressed ideally as a character from a book.
In recent years, it has become a tradition more stressful than Christmas.
In this house we have had some shockers, drive by supermarket trips at midnight the night before when a child has come downstairs for a drink and calmly asked what costume I have prepped them – FOR THE NEXT DAY.
This was the year I sent everyone in, in shorts and a t-shirt and we pulled it off as three of The Famous Five.
The kids were terribly disappointed in me.
And I promised to never make them go in home-made again!
Because shorts and a t-shirt is as good as it gets in this house!
So folks, heed my advice, get your sewing done now, if home-made is your thing.
For the rest of you stressed out, no time, world book date despisers, the internet is your friend.
Look at our beauty of a costume for this year!
Mary Poppins – going out for lunch!
You can still buy costumes for the kids online. No sewing needed, no arts and crafts, just completed perfection – that can be played with time after time.
The internet is an amazing place!
Thanks to Vegaoo, who sent Libby-Sue her costume well ahead of time, we are calmly waiting for World Book Day to begin…
Have you sorted your costume yet?
