Reading on Holiday….

Reading on Holiday….

There is no other way of writing this, I’m a lucky so and so. My last holiday was only a couple of weeks ago, but already I find myself mentally packing for my next break.

In my defense, it is a holiday, to celebrate my 40th.

And my fellow travelers are not my little trio, but instead, all grown up women!

I am so excited!

Although we will be getting outside and active, it is also a chance to relax, sit my the pool, read some books and enjoy guilt free wine.

Did I mention I was excited?

I am off on a review trip to Villas La Clairiere aux Chevreuils in Moliets, I am really looking forward to writing about our adventures.

My case is half packed, and I have already thrown in a dozen paperbacks.  Yes I own a kindle, but it would appear I am like your standard Brit abroad, and prefer reading a book rather than a screen on holiday.

Travel experts, Opodo.co.uk recently commissioned research, which indicates a resurgence in the reading behaviour among ‘bookish-Brits’ abroad. This is despite the abolition of EU data roaming charges, which now makes it cheaper to download e-books as well as consume digital content for less through electronic devices while travelling. Opodo found three in four (78%) of people prefer reading paperbacks on holiday.

Good to see I am not unique….

Although I was pleased to see that I am above average in my holiday reading, as the report found of those polled in the survey only one in five will get through as many as four books in the sun.

I am aiming for six!

And Opodo have given me some great reading ideas with their Top 10 Summer reads,
