The last couple of years have been rocky in our home, what started with a miscarriage, journeyed through epilepsy, transferred into hip dysplasia and finally ended in diabetes. It has been an exhausting roller coaster that has left us peering nervously around the corner in anticipation of what is to come next. For the moment the road looks clear, I can’t see any bumps or curves on the horizon, I am looking forward to a smooth ride.
I can’t lie; at times in the last couple of years I have thrown tantrums my toddler can only aspire to, swore at the sky, and questioned why my kids? Why couldn’t we just be left alone to carry on in good health. Then I have suffered monstrous guilt when I think how lucky we are in comparison to others and then I argue with my split self about being grateful and carrying on regardless.
Without my friends, family and at times, gin, the last few years would have been impossible to bear, a cross that would have eventually toppled over leaving me pinned useless underneath.
I have so many people to say thank you to, so many to make sure I am there for when they need me. So many have stepped in and helped us out and gone above and beyond the call of friendship. One girlfriend is always on hand to come over and take over with the kids when Twin girl needs to go into hospital or BB ends up in A&E (again). There are my friends who I can call at any time night or day, just to say hi, to cry on their shoulder when life feels a bit heavy or to giggle with when I have had too much wine!
And of course my mum and dad, the pair who arrive no matter what time of day or night they come when needed, roll up their sleeves, chip in and we face the next hurdle together.
Why am I telling you this? You may have seen the adverts but the lovely folks at E.ON are looking at ways to reward a friend, they have launched a great new competition that will allow you to thank a friend who has gone out of their way to help you, or has been through a rough patch lately or is just simply awesome!
I think my lovely blogging friend Emma, would be someone who really deserves a treat, her daughter Erin, suffers from the same condition as BB, DDH, and Emma has been to hell and back in the last year. We are celebrating our babies cast free legs later this year with our gorgeous girls and families on a weekend break but she massively deserves a whole bunch of goodness to come her way.
E.ON are creating the chance to reward someone in your circle of friends. They’re giving away 4 fabulous experience days for two plus 70 pairs of cinema tickets.
To enter the competition you must use the dedicated Facebook app and nominate a friend to win a prize through the comment box. You’ll need to “like” the E.ON Energy UK page. Simples!
Terms and conditions and full details of the giveaway will be held on eonenergy.com.
