Family stuff – A TV revolution for a tech-savvy generation

I remember when television sets only offered five channels, appeared in the shape of a small yet sturdy black box and boasted just one remote. Today’s television sets are an entirely different kettle of fish though. From sleek and almost paper-thin set-ups to three-dimensional viewing options, contemporary viewing is having a bit of a moment.

Those that regard themselves as tech-savvy individuals will most likely already know of the many TV styles and viewing options available, such as television sets you can turn on and off with the wave of a hand and three dimensional specs.

High-definition viewing is now readily available and offers a more cinematic experience; viewers can even invest in TV screens as big as those available at their local cinemas. With so many options available, it is important to invest in a set that suits both your family’s needs and also your own.

Surfing the web is even a possibility on a number of this year’s modern sets and almost all will offer a free-view facility. This enables consumers to view more than just the five channels for free. Others will go for the full package and opt for TV deals that boast even more channels.

A large number of modern TV sets allow the user to record various programmes and films. This is a great asset to both those that wish to watch different shows at the same time and also the busy individual that is often out or not home in time to catch their favourite show. Simply record it and save it for later, I often do this with a series and then watch each episode back to back, it saves the anticipation of waiting for the next part of the show to come around.

When looking into these deals, it is important to shop around and trawling the web is a great way to do this. There are a huge number of offers available, some of which will even let you buy now and pay later, some will even come with a stand which allows you to hang the TV from the wall.

This is great news to those that wish to create a contemporary space in their living room and also a cinematic-style living space. Adding surround sound to the package will enhance this cinematic experience in the home even further. This is a great asset for those that often have friends over and also those that class themselves as film buffs.

Good read- we tried to explain how TV used to be to our kids- not sure they got that sometimes you had to walk to the set and push a button on a big wooden box to change the 4 channels. These days they love you tube on our TV.
