Learning to walk again has been a long road for BB. She grows in strength day by day but signs of hip dysplasia linger. She stands tall and proud but walks with a limp that is earning her the pet name “Peggy”. Her peers run on ahead and she follows with a passion but is often left in their shadows looking eagerly on.
This breaks my heart, whilst I can literally shout from the rooftops with happiness that my baby is fixed she can still knock me to the floor with emotion when I see her struggling to keep up.
But new things catch her attention and she is not afraid to try anything. Her latest love is bikes and she can be seen limping along after her older siblings as they pedal away.
Imagine the excitement when this arrived?
She can’t ride it properly yet but she doesn’t care because she has something she has hankered after since getting her legs back. Daddy pushing her around is good enough for now.
A huge thanks to Kiddimoto (where you can pick up one of these lovely bikes) for putting a huge smile on my girls face.
Good stuff to know about kiddimoto…
There balance bikes are perfect for children aged from around two to six, they offer a fantastic way to learn how to balance on your bike making the transition to a ‘big bike’ much easier. Because the bike doesn’t have stabilizers kids learn how to get their stability quickly and get fab coordination. The twins all learned to ride on balance bikes and they have been confident riders for a couple of years now.
The bikes are seriously funky! – Check out the site for the full range ; they can also be personalised with names to make them extra special.
A full range of head-gear can come with the bike, BB remains to be convinced on the helmet so whilst Daddy is still needed we are letting her feel the wind in her hair a little!
